Working with a manager who never makes decisions. My first no-decision colleague.

I met my first no-decision colleague after working for two no-decision bosses. He had recently been promoted into the top management team from being a brilliant middle manager.

He was friendly, intelligent and very likeable. He knew the company in great detail, and was expert in knowledge of the industry. After only a few weeks, he had learnt the strengths and weakness of every member of his team. As a colleague he was great to work with.

But then I started getting feedback from his team that he never made decisions, and they let me know whenever they could of their frustration waiting for a decision to be made. I realised that I had met yet another no-decision manager. Their frustration was exactly the same as mine with my first two no-decision bosses.
But for the first time, I was able to watch his no-decision behaviour without emotion, especially without the intense frustration I experienced with my first two no-decision bosses.
